Budget 2020 Wins

Updated: Feb 11, 2020

I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying this beautiful summer.

After the timely passage of the $92.8 billion City budget, I would like to share investments that move us towards creating a fairer, safer and more progressive City for all. After months of tough negotiations, we worked together to expand equity and resources for students and teachers, libraries, parks, sanitation services, reproductive access for all, and so much more.

For District 1 residents, I am proud to help secure funding for programs and projects dedicated to tenant organizing, senior services and fitness, after-school programming and so much more.

I firmly believe that the City budget stands as the most important policy document passed by the New York City Council each year. It affirms our priorities and core values as New Yorkers, and it sets the tone for the kind of the City we want to shape for future generations.
